Book Industry Guild of New York Book Show Winners 2013

The following books, produced by Imago, received awards in the 27th annual New York Book Show.

Riding in my car - Little, Brown and Company

Merit Award - Novelty

This book captured our hearts when the first advance copies arrived on our desk. Inspired by Woody Guthrie's famous song, the book takes the reader on an interactive road trip across America.  The photo collage art makes this a very jaunty journey and the book is packed with fun touches, tabs, pops and flaps.

Spring Wildflowers - Princetown University Press

Merit Award - Reference Books

This book is presented beautifully. It is a reference book so it's packed full of information but that doesn't mean it can't be lovely! The jacket is particularly effective and uses wonderful soft touch lamination which retains the depth of colour and is incredibly tactile. The black jacket coupled with the bright yellow imitation cloth case allows you to just see flashes of yellow which really make this book zing!

Kaleidoscope - Little, Brown and Company

First Place - Novelty Book

This book is so clever! So inventive! The cover is constructed to include an embedded kaleidoscopic lens and turning wheel.  By positioning the lens above the pages and turning the wheel readers experience a visual delight as each page is transformed.
